Hi! I’m Marika. I’ve been wanting to start a blog for a while now... but always found an excuse as to why I couldn’t do it. Well, I’ve decided that 2020 is my year of getting sh*t done!
In July 2019, my husband and I welcomed our beautiful little girl into the world, Mila. I jumped from working in a full-time, office based environment for the past 5 years, to becoming a full-time mum overnight. Although becoming a mother was my dream, still is, and has been as long as I can remember, I have struggled with not having an outlet.
So - here we are! My creative outlet. The last 7 months have been my greatest adventure, Mila is a true light in this world. She is the happiest, smiliest little girl, she is my best friend, and I honestly could not imagine my life without her. However, let’s get real - parenting can also sometimes leave you feeling a little isolated and alone. Maybe more so for me because I live 5000+ miles away from my family and friends in the UK. I therefore wanted to create this space to start conversations, provide myself an outlet, and hopefully give out valuable advice to new Mumma’s or Mumma’s to be - whilst also documenting my baby girl’s first year of life. I am no parenting expert, I’m not professionally qualified. I am just a first time Mum, learning as I go.
I am originally from the UK, my husband and I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago. We love it here and are grateful every day that we can live in such a beautiful, sunshine-filled place and call it home. I plan to share my thoughts on motherhood, all things baby, living in California, and just our general lifestyle.
